Alec is a seasoned professional in the carbon markets, climate finance and energy transition space, with over 25 years of experience working for leading financial institutions and project developers, where he has financed and supported development of several carbon and clean tech projects that are reducing or removing millions of tons of GHG emissions across the world and improving the quality of life for surrounding communities. As President at AK Global Consulting, he specializes in developing and scaling carbon credit projects, securing financing and carbon credit offtake, and developing market-based climate solutions for clients.
In his previous role at Carbon Streaming Corporation, Alec led the origination, structuring, and execution of stream investments for nature based and engineered carbon reduction and removal projects including financing of biochar, ARR and AWD projects. During his tenure at New Fortress Energy Alec was involved in leading the development of a 100 MW/300kpph combined heat and power facility and supporting LNG import and regasification infrastructure in Jamaica. This project played a key role in introducing LNG to Jamaica, helping the country reduce its dependence on oil from 97% percent to 16% in less than four years. Alec has also held positions with ANZ Investment Bank and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein supporting the origination, execution and management of project and structured debt financing for wind, solar, electrical transmission, gas pipelines and power projects.
